Bespoke website design for UK small businesses.

Bespoke: made to fit your business, not adapted from the nearest template. I scope it, design it, and build it myself. The person who briefs me is the person I deliver to. Every conversation, every decision, every line of code: same hands, same standard. If it doesn't belong in your build, it doesn't go in the quote. From £3,000.

Timeline is computed from design + build phases with overlap, based on template count and scope. Brochure builds run 3–5 weeks; CMS and integration builds run 5–8 weeks.

When you'd hire me for this

  • Your business has outgrown a page-builder site (Wix, Squarespace, basic WordPress) and needs something more durable
  • You need a site that does real work: contact capture, bookings, integrations with your other tools, not just a brochure
  • You're in a market where first impressions matter and a generic theme undercuts your credibility
  • You want the person you brief to be the person who builds it — one working relationship, start to finish
  • You're launching something new and want to start with a proper foundation rather than rebuilding in two years

What you get

  • A site scoped to fit your business, not padded to hit a package price
  • Mobile-first build that passes Lighthouse performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and SEO audits at launch
  • Fixed-price scope document before any work starts. No surprises at invoice time
  • A CMS if you need one, built and configured so you can edit content yourself without a developer
  • Integrations where the brief calls for them: booking systems, lead capture, CRM sync, calendar APIs
  • First month of post-launch partnership included, no extra charge
  • Full code ownership from day one. The site grows with you — yours to take elsewhere if your needs change

How I work

  1. Initial call

I start with a 15-minute call. No pitch deck. You tell me what you need and I tell you whether it fits what I do well. If I'm not the right person, I'll say so and point you somewhere better.

  2. Discovery

From that call I spend about a week on discovery: mapping the site shape, what pages you actually need, any integrations, content you have versus content you need written. At the end of that week you get a written scope with a fixed price band and a timeline. Nothing starts until you're happy with that document.

  3. Design

Design typically takes one to two weeks. I work in Figma, share previews throughout, and one round of structured revisions is included. I'm not designing for how it looks on my screen. I'm designing for every device your customers use.

  4. Build

The build follows the approved design. Brochure sites run two to four weeks; a content site with CMS runs four to six weeks; integrations add time depending on the API. You get working previews you can click through, and a short check-in each week so you always know where things stand.

  5. Launch and onboarding

Launch is the start of the working relationship, not the end. Cross-device QA, Lighthouse performance audit, WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility check, DNS migration, documentation, and a walkthrough so you know how to run the site. First month of support after go-live, included.

What it costs

Across the small business web design projects I've delivered for UK clients since early 2025, bespoke brochure sites typically land between £3,000 and £6,000. A content site with a CMS (where you can publish blog posts, case studies, or service updates yourself) typically runs £5,000 to £8,000. Builds that include integrations (booking systems, CRM sync, calendar APIs) tend to fall in the £6,000 to £10,000 range.

Where in that band a project lands depends on three things: page count, whether a CMS is in scope, and how many third-party integrations the build needs. Every project is scoped individually. The bands above are honest guides, not menu prices.

FAQ

Let's talk about your build

15-minute free call. Tell me about your business and what the site needs to do. I'll tell you what shape fits, what it'll take, and whether I'm the right person for it. Written scope and proposal within three working days of that call.
